Kian Aden James Jones

Whilst the Charlie Jones Foundation was founded in memory of Charlie Jones, no one thought that the Jones' Family would be unfortunate to have HLHS hit them twice.

So when CJF Trustee and Charlie's mummy, Donna, found out she was pregnant 6 weeks after Charlie died, everyone held optimism that this baby would be heart healthy and would be a gift sent from Charlie. No one thought that another HLHS baby could be born to Donna and Dean as it was extremely rare to have it happen twice, let alone once.

No one could have been prepared for the devastating news that on Friday 19th February 2010, Kian Aden James Jones was born at just 17 weeks and 5 days into Donna's pregnancy. The post mortem on Kian showed that he not only had HLHS, a different, worse variant than Charlie, he also had various plumbing of his heart the wrong way round, bi-lateral lobes on his lungs, a malformation of the bowel and other problems.

So now the Charlie Jones Foundation work hard to raise awareness into HLHS for both Charlie and Kian as there is only one other couple in the UK (that Donna and Dean are aware of) that have two HLHS angels.

Today marks what would have been Kian's 1st Birthday and he spends today, playing in the clouds with his big brother.
