A sponsored 5,000m swim took place on Friday 30th October 2009, at St Monica's Junior School, in memory of Charlie. Donna and Dean, Charlie's parents, swam the first couple of lengths to get the swimathon off and they were joined by friends and family to help them achieve the 5,000m mark. The youngest person to participate was Summer Cheater, who at almost 4 months old, was one of Charlie's little friends.
They managed to complete the 5,000m in an hour and raised a massive £1,500.
